Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県) is a prefecture located in the Chubu region of Honshu, the main island of Japan. Its capital is Gifu City, and the prefecture is known for its rich history, beautiful natural scenery, and traditional crafts.

Some of the most famous attractions in Gifu Prefecture include the historic village of Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses; the Nakasendo Trail, an ancient road that connected Kyoto and Edo (Tokyo) during the Edo period; and the Hida Takayama Old Town, a well-preserved historic district that is home to traditional crafts such as lacquerware and woodworking.
