Nagano Prefecture

Nagano Prefecture (長野県) is a prefecture located in the Chubu region of Honshu, the main island of Japan. Its capital is Nagano City, and the prefecture is known for its beautiful mountain scenery, hot springs, and outdoor activities.

Some of the most famous attractions in Nagano Prefecture include the Zenko-ji Temple, a historic Buddhist temple that is said to be one of the oldest in Japan; the Snow Monkey Park, where visitors can see Japanese macaques soaking in hot springs; and the Hakuba ski resort, one of Japan’s most popular ski destinations.

Nagano Prefecture is also famous for hosting the Winter Olympics in 1998, and the prefecture has a number of world-class ski resorts, as well as opportunities for snowshoeing, ice skating, and other winter sports.

In addition to its winter sports, Nagano Prefecture is also a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities during the warmer months. The prefecture is home to numerous hiking trails, national parks, and hot springs, making it a great destination for anyone who loves nature and outdoor adventure.
