Mount Fuji World Heritage Center

The Mt. Fuji World Heritage Center, Shizuoka (静岡県富士山世界遺産センター) is a museum and visitor center located in Fujinomiya City, at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It was established in 2017 to promote understanding and appreciation of Mt. Fuji and its cultural and natural significance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The center features a variety of exhibits and interactive displays that showcase the history, geology, ecology, culture, and religious significance of Mt. Fuji and its surrounding areas. Visitors can learn about the mountain’s formation, its influence on Japanese art and literature, and its role in shaping the local culture and economy.

One of the highlights of the center is a dynamic, large-scale projection mapping display of Mt. Fuji that allows visitors to explore the mountain’s many features and learn about the various climbing routes and hazards. The center also has a theater that screens short films about the mountain and its environment.

In addition to the exhibits, the center offers various educational programs and events, including lectures, workshops, and guided tours. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful views of Mt. Fuji from the center’s observation deck and surrounding gardens.

Please note that there is another facility in Yamanashi with a very similar name, Fujisan World Heritage Center (富士山世界遺産センター ), so please be careful when making group reservations or visiting.
