Toyama Castle Park (富山城址公園) is a historic park located in Toyama City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan. The park is situated on the site of Toyama Castle, which was originally built in 1543 by the Maeda Clan, one of the most powerful feudal lords in Japan at the time.
The park features the remains of the castle’s stone walls and part of the moat, as well as a reconstructed main keep. These structures offer visitors a glimpse into the castle’s past and provide a sense of the grandeur and power of the feudal lords who once lived there. Inside the reconstructed main keep is the Toyama City Local History Museum, where visitors can learn about the history of Toyama and the castle.
In addition to the castle structures, Toyama Castle Park also features a variety of natural and man-made attractions, including a large pond, a Japanese garden, and cherry trees planted around the castle site. The park is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing in the spring, and is also a great place to relax and enjoy nature throughout the year.
The park is adjacent to Fugan Unga Kansui Park, which is known for its beautiful scenery and the iconic Tenmon Bridge. The Sato Memorial Museum of Art, located within the park, houses a collection of Asian art and artifacts. Together, Toyama Castle Park and Fugan Unga Kansui Park create a large green space in the heart of the city, offering visitors a variety of attractions and activities.
