Lake Shojiko

Lake Shojiko

Lake Shojiko (精進湖) is one of the five lakes that make up the Fuji Five Lakes, located at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is the smallest of the five lakes and is known for its crystal clear waters, scenic beauty, and outdoor recreational activities.

The lake is popular for fishing, especially for crucian carp. Visitors can also rent a paddleboat or kayak to explore the lake’s shores and enjoy the stunning views of Mt. Fuji.

One of the most popular attractions at Lake Shojiko is the Shojiko Lake Festival, which is held annually in August. The festival features a variety of activities, including traditional Japanese music and dance performances, food stalls, and a fireworks show.

Another popular attraction is the Panoramadai (パノラマ台), which offers panoramic views of Mt. Fuji and the surrounding area. The Panoramadai can be accessed by a short hike or by car.

In addition to outdoor activities, Lake Shojiko also has several hot spring ryokan and hotels, where visitors can enjoy indoor and outdoor baths with views of Mt. Fuji.
