Mount Misen

Mount Misen (弥山) is a sacred mountain located on the island of Miyajima in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. It is the highest peak on the island, rising 535 meters above sea level, and is part of the Setonaikai National Park.

Mount Misen is considered to be a sacred place in both Shinto and Buddhist religions, and is home to several shrines and temples, including the famous Daisho-in Temple. The mountain is also known for its beautiful natural scenery, including lush forests, scenic trails, and stunning views of the Seto Inland Sea.

One of the most popular ways to reach the summit of Mount Misen is by taking the Mount Misen Ropeway, a cable car that takes visitors from the base of the mountain to the summit. The cable car ride offers panoramic views of the surrounding area, including the Seto Inland Sea and the city of Hiroshima in the distance.

For those who prefer hiking, there are several trails that lead to the summit of Mount Misen. The most popular trail is the Momijidani Trail, which starts near the base of the mountain and winds through a beautiful maple valley before reaching the summit. Along the way, hikers can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding landscape, including waterfalls, streams, and ancient cedar trees.

At the summit of Mount Misen, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the Seto Inland Sea and the surrounding islands. There is also a small observation deck and a restaurant where visitors can relax and take in the view. On clear days, it is even possible to see as far as the city of Hiroshima and the Chugoku Mountains.
