Kosanji Temple

Kosanji Temple

Kosanji Temple (耕三寺) is a Buddhist temple located in Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. It was also founded by Kozo Kosanji, a wealthy businessman who dedicated the temple to his mother’s memory.

The temple complex features beautiful gardens, ponds, and buildings, many of which are replicas of famous temples and shrines from around Japan. One of the most notable features of the temple is the Amida Hall, which contains a large wooden statue of Amida Buddha and is decorated with intricate carvings and gold leaf.

In addition to the Amida Hall, there are several other buildings at Kousanji, including the Kannon Hall, which houses a statue of the Buddhist goddess Kannon, and the Treasure Hall, which contains numerous art treasures and antiques.

The gardens at Kosanji are also a major attraction, featuring a wide variety of plants and flowers, as well as several ponds and waterfalls. The temple is particularly beautiful in the spring when the cherry blossoms are in bloom.
