
Okayama Prefecture (岡山県) is a prefecture located in the Chugoku region of Honshu, the main island of Japan. It is situated to the east of Hiroshima Prefecture and is bordered by the Seto Inland Sea to the south. The capital city is Okayama.
Okayama Prefecture is known for its historical sites, natural beauty, and agricultural products. One of the most famous attractions in the prefecture is the Okayama Castle, also known as the “Crow Castle” due to its black exterior. The castle is surrounded by the beautiful Korakuen Garden, one of the three most famous gardens in Japan.
Other famous landmarks in Okayama include the Kurashiki Bikan Historical Quarter, a beautifully preserved district of traditional merchant houses and warehouses, and the Okayama Korakuen Cultural Hall, a modern concert hall that hosts a variety of musical performances and events.
Okayama Prefecture is also known for its agricultural products, including Okayama peaches, grapes, and strawberries. The prefecture is also a major producer of denim, with Kurashiki City being home to several denim mills and brands.
