Furano Ski Resort

Furano Ski Resort

Furano Ski Resort (富良野スキー場) is a popular ski and snowboarding destination located in the town of Furano, in central Hokkaido, Japan. The resort is known for its high-quality powder snow, long ski runs, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

Furano Ski Resort is divided into two main areas: the Kitanomine Zone and the Furano Zone. The Kitanomine Zone offers a range of ski runs for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced, with a vertical drop of over 950 meters and 17 courses served by 6 lifts. The longest run is 4 kilometers long, providing plenty of space for skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the snow. The Furano Zone, on the other hand, is more suitable for beginners and families, with gentle slopes and wide runs.

In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Furano Ski Resort offers a variety of other activities, such as snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. There are also several restaurants and cafes on site, serving up delicious food and drinks to keep visitors fueled throughout the day.

Furano Ski Resort is particularly popular among international visitors, with many English-speaking staff and services available. The resort also offers ski and snowboarding lessons for those who are new to the sport, as well as equipment rentals for those who don’t have their own gear.

Besides the ski resort itself, Furano offers a variety of other attractions, such as the magical Ningle Terrace, a collection of craft shops and cafes nestled in the woods, and the Furano Cheese Factory, where visitors can sample and purchase local cheese products. The town of Furano is also known for its beautiful lavender fields in the summer, making it a popular destination year-round.
