The Furano Winery (ふらのワイン工場 富良野市ぶどう果樹研究所) is a popular attraction located in the town of Furano, Hokkaido, Japan. Established in 1972, it is one of the pioneers of winemaking in Hokkaido. The winery produces a variety of wines using local Hokkaido grapes, including international varieties like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as unique Hokkaido varieties like Yamabudo and Niagara.
Visitors to the Furano Winery can take a guided tour of the facility and learn about the wine-making process. The tour includes a visit to the winery’s production area, where visitors can see the equipment used to crush and ferment the grapes.
The winery also has a tasting room at the adjacent Wine House, where visitors can sample a variety of wines and purchase bottles to take home. Guests can enjoy a complimentary tasting of 3 red and white wines, or opt for a paid tasting of 12 different red, white, and rosé wines for 200 yen. A coin-operated wine server is also available for those who wish to try a wider selection. The tasting room offers a beautiful view of the surrounding Furano countryside, making it a relaxing place to enjoy a glass of wine.
