Mount Hakodate

Mount Hakodate (函館山) is a mountain located in the city of Hakodate, in the southern part of Hokkaido, Japan. The mountain is renowned for its spectacular views of the city, especially at night when the city lights create a mesmerizing panorama.

Visitors to Mount Hakodate can ascend to the summit via the Hakodate Ropeway, a cable car that offers stunning views of the surrounding area during the approximately three-minute ride. At the top, the observation deck provides panoramic vistas of Hakodate and its surroundings.

The observation deck is open during the ropeway’s operating hours, and the view from the top is considered one of the best in Japan. At night, the city lights illuminate the landscape, creating a beautiful contrast with the dark sea below.
