Odori Park (大通公園) is a large public park located in the heart of Sapporo, Japan. It stretches over 1.5 kilometers from east to west and serves as a popular gathering place for locals and tourists alike.
The park is named after the large boulevard that runs through its center, known as Odori Avenue. The avenue is lined with trees, multiple fountains, and flowerbeds, and serves as a popular spot for events and festivals throughout the year, including the famous Sapporo Snow Festival in winter, the colorful Lilac Festival in spring, the energetic Yosakoi Soran Festival in summer, and the romantic White Illumination in winter. In summer, the park also hosts large beer gardens.
The park is divided into several sections, each with its own unique attractions. The eastern section of the park features the Sapporo TV Tower, which offers panoramic views of the city from its observation deck. There is also a small playground and a skating rink during the winter season.
The western section of the park is home to a large lawn area and a small pond. Throughout the park, there are numerous benches and seating areas, making it a popular spot for picnics and relaxation. There are also several food vendors and stalls selling snacks and souvenirs.
Sapporo TV Tower is a landmark tower located at the eastern end of Odori Park in the heart of downtown Sapporo. The 147-meter tall tower was built in 1957 and has since been a popular tourist attraction in Sapporo.
