Kinosaki (城崎) is a small town located in the Hyogo Prefecture of Japan, known for its hot springs and traditional Japanese architecture. The town has a long history as a hot spring resort, and is popular with tourists who come to soak in the healing waters and experience the traditional Japanese culture.
One of the most notable features of Kinosaki is the seven public hot springs, or “soto-yu,” located throughout the town. Visitors can rent or purchase a “yukata,” a type of casual kimono, and a wooden clog, or “geta,” to wear as they visit the different hot springs. Each hot spring has its own unique character and atmosphere, and visitors can enjoy soaking in the hot water while taking in the beautiful scenery of the town.
In addition to the hot springs, Kinosaki is also known for its traditional Japanese architecture, with many buildings and streets still retaining their original Edo period style. Visitors can take a stroll through the town’s charming streets, which are lined with traditional shops and restaurants, or visit one of the town’s many shrines and temples.
Another popular attraction in Kinosaki is the Kinosaki Marine World aquarium, which features a variety of marine life, including dolphins, sea lions, and penguins. Visitors can also enjoy watching dolphin shows and feeding the animals.
