Amanohashidate

Amanohashidate (天橋立) is a scenic sandbar located in the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is considered one of Japan’s “Three Views,” along with Miyajima‘s Itsukushima Shrine and Matsushima Bay.

The sandbar is about 3.6 kilometers long and covered in pine trees, creating a unique natural beauty that attracts visitors from all over Japan and the world. The sandbar is located between the Miyazu Bay and the Asoumi Sea, and can be seen from two observation points: Kasamatsu Park and Amanohashidate View Land.

Amanohashidate is a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a variety of attractions and activities. Visitors can enjoy scenic walks along the sandbar, as well as cycling and boat tours. There are also several shrines and temples in the area, including the Amanohashidate Shrine and the Chionji Temple.

One of the most unique attractions in Amanohashidate is the Ine Bay, a fishing village located on the Asoumi Sea. The village is famous for its traditional “funaya” houses, which are built directly on the water and are used as both homes and boathouses for local fishermen.
