Ine (伊根) is a fishing village located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. It is known for its traditional fishing culture and unique boat houses, which are called “funaya.”
The funaya are traditional wooden houses that are built over the water, with one side facing the sea and the other side facing the land. They were originally used as both living quarters and boat storage, and many of them are still in use today.
