Nagashima Spa Land

Nagashima Resort (ナガシマリゾート) is a popular leisure complex located in Mie Prefecture, Japan. The resort opened in 1966 and has since expanded to include several different themed areas and attractions.

One of the main attractions of Nagashima Resort is Nagashima Spa Land (ナガシマスパーランド), an amusement park with many roller coasters. The park is home to several world-class roller coasters, including the Steel Dragon 2000, which was the longest roller coaster in the world when it opened in 2000. Other notable roller coasters at Nagashima Resort include the Acrobat and the Corkscrew.

Nagashima Spa Land also features a variety of other attractions, including a water park, a Ferris wheel, a haunted house, and various rides for children. The park is also known for its beautiful gardens, which feature a wide variety of flowers and other plants.

In addition to the amusement park, Nagashima Resort is also home to “Yuami no Shima,” a vast hot spring complex, and “Jazz Dream Nagashima,” an outlet mall offering discounted designer goods from top Japanese and international brands. The resort also offers various types of accommodations, conveniently located near the amusement park and hot spring facilities.

During the winter months, Nagashima Resort hosts “Nagashima Spa Land Illumination,” one of the largest illumination events in Japan.

Getting there

By Train

Take the Kintetsu Railway to Kintetsu-Kuwana Station. From there, go to the Kuwana Station (East Exit) bus stop and take a bus bound for Nagashima Onsen. The bus ride takes about 20 minutes to reach the Nagashima Onsen bus stop. Nagashima Spa Land is about a 1-minute walk from there.

By Bus

Direct buses operate from Nagoya Station, taking about 50 minutes at the fastest to reach Nagashima Resort. There are also direct buses from Chubu Centrair International Airport.

By Car

  • From Nagoya: About 30 minutes via expressway
  • From Osaka: About 115 minutes via expressway
  • From Tokyo: About 210 minutes via expressway
  • From Chubu Centrair International Airport: About 40 minutes via expressway

By Shinkansen (Bullet Train)

From Tokyo, Shinagawa, or Shin-Yokohama, it takes about 85-110 minutes to reach JR Nagoya Station. From Osaka or Kyoto, it takes about 45-50 minutes. From Nagoya Station, you can take a direct bus to Nagashima Resort.

By Airplane

It takes about 60-130 minutes to reach Chubu Centrair International Airport from various airports. From there, you can take a direct bus to Nagashima Resort.

Nagashima Resort has parking facilities that can accommodate about 13,000 vehicles. The parking fee for a regular car is 1,000 yen per day.
