Umeda Sky Building (梅田スカイビル), located in the Umeda district of Osaka, Japan, is a unique high-rise building, opened on March 15, 1993. It stands at a height of 173 meters and consists of two towers connected by a circular observation deck called the “Floating Garden Observatory.”
The observation deck, situated 170 meters above ground, offers stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding city, including Osaka Castle and the surrounding mountains. The deck is accessible by both a glass-enclosed escalator and elevators, providing visitors with a unique and thrilling experience.
In addition to the observation deck, the Umeda Sky Building also features a shopping and dining area called “Takimi Koji” on the basement levels, designed to resemble a Showa-era retro cityscape, and a rooftop garden on top of the observatory.
One of the most unique features of the Umeda Sky Building is its design, resembling a futuristic cityscape and created by the architect Hiroshi Hara. The two towers are connected by a large arch that houses the Floating Garden Observatory, and the exterior of the building is covered in reflective glass panels, giving it a sleek and modern appearance.
