Wakayama Prefecture

Wakayama Prefecture (和歌山県) is located in the Kansai region of Japan and is known for its beautiful natural scenery, including mountains, forests, and coastlines. The prefecture has a population of approximately 950,000 people and covers an area of 4,725 square kilometers. The capital city is Wakayama City.

Some popular tourist attractions in Wakayama include Mount Koya, a sacred mountain with numerous temples and shrines, Kumano Kodo, a network of ancient pilgrimage routes, Wakayama Castle, Shirahama Beach, and Nachi Falls.
