
Kairakuen Garden (偕楽園) is a large public park located in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. It is considered one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan, along with Kenrokuen in Kanazawa and Korakuen in Okayama.
Kairakuen Garden covers an area of 300 hectares and features a variety of attractions, including a large pond, walking paths, teahouses, and several hundred varieties of plum trees. The plum trees bloom in late February and early March, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
One of the most popular attractions at Kairakuen Garden is the Kobuntei, a traditional Japanese building that was constructed in the 1840s. The building is features a large tatami room with a panoramic view of the garden.
Another popular attraction at Kairakuen Garden is the Ume Matsuri, or Plum Festival, which takes place in late February and early March each year. During the festival, the garden is illuminated at night, and visitors can enjoy a variety of food and drink stalls, as well as traditional Japanese music and dance performances.
Kairakuen Garden also features several teahouses where visitors can enjoy traditional Japanese tea and sweets while taking in the beauty of the garden. The teahouses are located throughout the park, and each offers a unique view of the garden and its surroundings.
