
Kawagoe City Museum (川越市立博物館) was established in 1990 on the site of the Ninomaru of Kawagoe Castle in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, in a building incorporating traditional Japanese architectural elements.
The museum’s main attraction is an exhibit on Kawagoe’s Edo Period (1603-1868) heritage, showcasing the city’s traditional architecture, crafts, and customs. Visitors can see models of traditional merchant houses, wooden tools, Hinaningyo dolls, straw crafts, and other artifacts unique to the area.
