
Ureshino Onsen (嬉野温泉) is a hot spring resort located in Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture, Japan. It has a long history dating back to the Nara period and is known for its high-quality hot springs, characterized by a slightly thick and smooth texture, that are rich in minerals and have been praised for their therapeutic effects on the skin, particularly for beautifying the skin. Legend has it that the famous warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi used to bathe in these hot springs.
The onsen offers a range of different baths, including indoor and outdoor baths, as well as private baths that can be reserved for couples or families.
In addition to its hot springs, Ureshino is also renowned for its tea production, especially Ureshino tea, which is famous throughout Japan. Visitors can enjoy a cup of locally produced tea while soaking in the hot springs or exploring the area.
Ureshino Onsen is surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, including rolling hills and picturesque tea fields. There are several hiking trails in the area that offer stunning views of the surrounding landscape, as well as opportunities to see local flora and fauna.

By Train
- Take the JR Limited Express from Hakata Station to Takeo Onsen Station (about 60 minutes)
- From Takeo Onsen Station, take the JR West Kyushu Shinkansen Kamome to Ureshino Onsen Station (about 7 minutes)
- From Ureshino Onsen Station, it’s about a 7-minute drive or shuttle bus ride to the onsen area
By Car
- About 70 minutes from Fukuoka IC via Kyushu Expressway and Nagasaki Expressway
- Exit at Ureshino IC and drive about 5 minutes on general roads
From Airports
From Saga Airport:
- Take a bus to JR Saga Station (about 35 minutes)
- Then follow the train route above
- Alternatively, take the Ureshino Onsen Non-stop Taxi (Jumbo Shared Taxi)
From Fukuoka Airport:
- Take the subway to Hakata Station (about 5 minutes)
- Then follow the train route above
From Nagasaki Airport:
- Take the Saihi bus to Sonogihonmachi bus stop (about 30 minutes)
- Then take the JR Kyushu bus to Ureshino Onsen Bus Center (about 25 minutes)
