Tokashiki Island

Tokashiki Island (渡嘉敷島) is a small island located in the Kerama Islands group, which is part of Okinawa Prefecture in Japan. It is situated about 20 kilometers west of Naha, the capital city of Okinawa Prefecture.

Tokashiki Island is known for its crystal-clear waters and beautiful coral reefs, which make it a popular destination for snorkeling and diving. The island is also home to several beautiful beaches, such as Aharen Beach, which is often considered one of the best beaches in Japan.

Access to Tokashiki Island is primarily via ferry from Naha or Tomari Port. The ferry ride takes approximately 35 to 70 minutes, depending on the departure point and time.

Getting to Tomari Port

  • From Naha Airport:
    • By monorail: Take the monorail to Miebashi Station (14 minutes), then walk about 10 minutes to Tomari Port
    • By bus: Take bus lines 26 or 99 to Tomari Takahashi (about 30 minutes)
    • By taxi: Approximately 15 minutes
