Churaumi Aquarium

The Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium (美ら海水族館) is one of the largest and most famous aquariums in the world, located within the Ocean Expo Park in Motobu, Okinawa, Japan. The aquarium’s main attraction is the Kuroshio Sea tank, which is one of the largest indoor aquarium tanks in the world and houses a variety of marine life, including whale sharks, manta rays, and other exotic fish.

In addition to the Kuroshio Sea tank, the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium has several other exhibits showcasing the diverse marine ecosystems of Okinawa and the world. These exhibits include a coral reef tank, a deep-sea tank, and tanks featuring marine life from the Pacific Ocean, the Indian Ocean, and the Atlantic Ocean.

The aquarium also offers a variety of programs and activities for visitors, including a dolphin show, a sea turtle feeding, and a behind-the-scenes tour. Visitors can also learn about the conservation efforts underway to protect the marine life of Okinawa and the world.
