
Ryozenji Temple (霊山寺) is a Buddhist temple located in Naruto, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan. It is the first of the 88 temples on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, a popular pilgrimage route that circumnavigates the island of Shikoku and visits 88 Buddhist temples along the way. The temple is also known as the “temple of starting a vow” as it is the starting point of the pilgrimage.
The temple was founded in the 8th century and has a rich history and cultural significance. It is known for its beautiful garden, which features a pond and a variety of plants and trees. The garden is particularly famous for its cherry blossoms, which bloom in the spring and attract visitors from all over Japan.
