The Fuji-Yoshida Route introduces advance reservations and a toll system from May 20th

Mount Fuji Toll System

Advance Reservation System:
Reservations must be made online at the Yamanashi Prefecture Mt. Fuji Yoshida Route Passage Reservation System by 23:59 on the day before the day of climbing.
The reservation quota is limited to 4,000 persons per day, and climbing without a reservation is not allowed in principle.
Reservations can be processed by one representative at a time for up to 100 people.
A toll fee of 2,000 yen per person is required for each advance reservation.
The existing Fuji Conservation Cooperation Fee (1,000 yen) can also be settled at the same time of reservation.

Time Limitations:
A gate will be set up at the fifth station trailhead, and the trail will be closed to all but lodge guests from 4:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m. the following day.

Usage of tolls:
The fee will be used for climber safety, disaster response and recovery, support for foreign climbers, etc.

Online Reservation Method:
Access the Yamanashi Prefecture Mt. Fuji Yoshida Route Toll Reservation System from the official Mt.
Enter your name, address, telephone number, climbing date, number of climbers, and other information, then make a reservation and pay the toll by credit card or QR payment.
After the procedure is completed, you will receive a “completion e-mail ” with a QR code.
On the day of climbing, you can pass the QR code by holding it over the terminal at the fifth station reception desk and wearing the wristband that will be distributed to you.

Climbing without a reservation:
Climbing the mountain without an advance reservation is possible at the reception desk on the day of the climb, but only if there is space available in the reservation window.
If you do not have a reservation, you must pay the toll at the fifth station counter and receive a wristband.

Purpose of introducing the new rule:
Improvement of the climbing environment by easing congestion
Prevention of accidents caused by bullet climbing
Improvement of trail safety
Reduction of garbage
Yamanashi Prefecture encourages climbers to make early reservations and pass through the fifth station gate early on the day of the climb.
