Appi Kogen (安比高原) is a ski resort located in Hachimantai City in the northern part of Iwate Prefecture, Japan. It is known for its beautiful mountain scenery, excellent skiing and snowboarding conditions, and luxurious accommodations.
The ski resort features over 20 ski slopes, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, as well as several snow parks and areas for cross-country skiing. The resort also has a ski school and rental equipment services, making it accessible for both experienced skiers and those new to the sport.
In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Appi Kogen offers a variety of other winter activities, such as snowshoeing, sledding, and hot springs. Getting there
By Train
- Take the Tohoku Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Morioka Station (about 2.5 to 3 hours)
- From Morioka Station, choose one of the following:
- Resort Shuttle Bus (about 50 minutes, 1,200 yen)
- JR Hanawa Line to Appi-Kogen Station (about 50 minutes), then free shuttle bus to the resort
